The Rise from the Defeat Shan Ballares

“It all Started in BAPS”

It was a celebration of BU Foundation on 2007, students have their own fields of delegation in competitions, representing their colleges. Speaking of colleges delegation three students from BAPS department represent the CSSP in Taekwondo sports competition. One representative in flyweight male division, (Ken) one in finweigth female division, (Shan) and one in bunt hum female division (Mimi).

We are all amateurs in this sport and practiced only for one week in Arcilla Hall. Before the fight starts, we are all in mixed emotions of excitement and nervous especially when we discovered our opponents that were regional and national players.

The first fight in us was Ken; his opponent was from IPESR and played in SQUAA and regional Taekwondo competition. Ken got 1 score while his opponent got 3. Then here I come to be the next to fight. I vs the black belt and National player delegate of BUCAF. Having a score of 4 vs 6 favoring my opponent was not that painful but when Mimi still lost in the hand of the delegate of BUPC who was also a national player in a score of 3 vs 7, thinking that all of us failed to win the game was a little bit frustrating. We obviously saw the reason of our defeat as lack of lessons and training in it as preparation. So we thought of a solution so that our next delegate won’t suffer the same.

Here now comes the conceive idea to organize a Taekwondo club in CSSP but the idea, that it would be better if the students would learn not only Taekwondo but also other field of Martial Arts such as Arnis and Aikido was brilliant, and so we did.

“Learning many is better learning.” Isn’t it? So instead of Taekwondo club, the CSSP Martial Arts Association would rise, and the founder would be BAPS students. I, as founder, and Ken, as co-founder, made the resolution of proposal in it, and after passing the eyes of our three advisers whom were, Prof. Lloyd Berdin, Prof. Noel Rafer, and Prof. Ruby Ann Ayo, it was passed at the office of the Dean and finally it was approved last Nov. 8 2007.

CSSP Martial Arts Association looked for a high Quality Instructor. After screening seven Pages resume, the CSSP Martial Arts Association’s advisers and founders finally Hired Mr. Jowe Cutamora as the association’s chief instructor. Actually, the association is now in the enrollment process. As soon as 30 enrollees gathered, the operation of that said association would start. So if you are interested to enroll, you can enroll ASAP, look for Prof Berdin and or Shahani Ballares in BAPS Department and ENROLL!

“Note”

there would be a belt promotion

each belt would take 12 sessions

paying of per session fee is for whole 1 belt durastion

‘Fees”- Membership fee php 300.00
